Busy Bee

I've been a busy bee this year! When I'm home, almost every hour of the week is filled with work, writing and studying (plus gym and yoga), but luckily I've been able to vacation quite a bit, too. It's been a challenge to budget my time so strictly, but it's nice to feel accomplished while still having time to really relax without feeling guilty that I should be working on something.

Good Times Were Had

The boyfriend and I took a last minute trip up to a friend's lake house party in Wisconsin this weekend, and it was just what I needed. We were barely gone 24 hours, but I feel so refreshed and relaxed. Sometimes a quick road trip and a few hours on a lake are better than a full blown vacation. I had so much fun just hanging out with friends, swimming, camping and dancing late nite at #ClubPontoon. We even made the requisite stops at Mars Cheese Castle and Bobby Nelson's for some cheese spread, summer sausage, and a whole bunch of Spotted Cow.

Back In The City

It's certainly not my best work (the pains of being a writer), but I really enjoyed seeing The Dodos on Monday night at Bottom Lounge. I have to admit, it's tough getting out to a concert on a Monday night period, but even tougher right after getting back from a Mexico vacation!

So now it's back to Chicago and back to the grind-- work, commuting, and worst of all, cold weather. But also back to a busy concert schedule between Tankboy and I. Hey, the great music scene in Chicago is one thing I don't mind returning to!
